In 2005 Miles for Midwives was lucky enough to land on a beautiful sunny day. This year we started indentifying midwives and student-midwives with bright yellow race numbers. The race drew 200 registrants this year, including 48 midwives! Also for the first time, Miles for Midwives began donating a portion of our proceeds to Friends of the Birth Center. After the event participants browsed at information tables offering literature about birth, childbirth education, women's health, midwifery, and local practitioners. Awards were given in various categories, including First Midwife!
