Looking for an energetic, hardworking full-time CNM/CM to join our busy OB/GYN team with 5 midwives and 10 physicians.
-Call is 1/5 with 24 hour in-house private MD back-up (very supportive)
-CNM/CM duties include standard antepartum, labor/delivery, and postpartum care in hospital
-Office 1-2.5 busy days per week with heavy OB load along with moderate knowledge of GYN also required. MD consult for GYN available at all times.

Candidates for this position will have the unique opportunity to practice in one of the oldest freestanding birthing centers in the country. Responsibilities will encompass providing full scope care to women across the lifespan, including perinatal care with the opportunity to do births at the center. Team support includes nurse midwives, nurse practitioners and obstetricians.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES...
...include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
*Takes health histories of expectant mother and performs initial physical and pelvic examinations.
*Conducts regular prenatal visits with ability to consult with an obstetrician.
*Plans for and provides continuous health supervision and education of each mother based upon her individual needs.
*Manages labor and birthing of women; utilizes obstetric and/or pediatric consultation and initiates emergency measures when indicated.
*Performs pertinent laboratory procedures and takes histories and reviews antepartum records.
*Births infant and performs postpartum examinations and treatments to ensure that mother and infant are responding normally.
*Evaluates and provides care for the newborn infant.
*Makes periodic evaluations of mother and baby and assists mothers in planning for care of themselves and their families through the puerperium.
*In conjunction with perinatal team provides ongoing interconceptional care to women.
*Provides well-woman gynecological and family planning care to clients of childbearing age.
*Reviews cases with peers and obstetrician to assure best practices.
*Instructs women in diet and sound health practices.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
*Graduate of a nurse midwifery or midwifery program approved by the American College of Nurse Midwives
*Certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives
*CPR Certification – mandatory
*2 plus years experience preferred

Home Birth Position Available
I am searching for an experienced midwife (at least 2-3 years in full-scope practice) to join my homebirth, fertility and GYN practice in Williamsburg, Brooklyn
I will offer 6-8 months of homebirth orientation/training (as needed), during which time we will attend many office/home visits and all births together (this means 24/7 call). After that period call will be shared 50/50. A minimum 3 year commitment is required.
Trust in birth, excellent clinical and relationship skills, deep compassion, an independent can-do spirit, entrepreneurial mindset, abundant energy, rock solid integrity and honesty are minimum requirements.
